Explore the creative process, and liberate the artist within you.

My own inspiration often comes from historic and ethnic textiles. Through my personal exploration and artistic introspection, you will learn how to turn what fascinates you into a personal artistic statement. I will discuss my textile history and touch on historic and contemporary textile art that I respond to. I aim to help you develop your own personal vocabulary of imagery and techniques and perfect the presentation of your work.

Workshop

Through a slide lecture, three creative projects, and class discussion, we will learn what moves us, what we are attracted to, and how that influences the work we do. 

Inspiration can come from materials, techniques or concepts. We will explore each of these in turn and share what we learn about the artist within us.
